What to Expect During Your Plasma IQ Treatment
At your Plasma IQ appointment, one of our board-certified medical providers will first prepare the area to be treated with a numbing cream. Then, they’ll use the Plasma IQ handheld device to make a series of closely spaced tiny dots over the entire area.
Plasma IQ isn’t painful; many people describe the sensation as a mild static electricity shock.
The procedure will take approximately 30 minutes, although this depends on the size and number of areas being treated.
After a Plasma IQ session, your skin will immediately appear tighter and firmer. You’ll also have tiny brown dots (carbon crusts) on the treated area that will fall off in 7–10 days. In the first few days post treatment, you may experience swelling, redness, tenderness and scabbing that will resolve on its own.
During the healing period, it is important to wear a high-SPF sunscreen to protect your skin and to avoid picking at the crusts to allow it to heal properly.
Your Plasma IQ results will be visible after 3 weeks, but your skin will continue to firm and heal over several more weeks as your skin produces more collagen.
The number of sessions you’ll need depends on the concerns you’re treating. Most of our patients undergo 1–3 treatments scheduled 6 weeks apart.
Best of all, Plasma IQ results are long-lasting. You’ll enjoy more youthful-looking skin for 3–5 years, and in the case of lesion removal, results may be permanent.
